Libya’s state-run firm, NOC, hosted a meeting of the maintenance departments’ managers of the oil companies The meeting was between the manager of NOC’s department of maintenance and projects and members of the department and managers of the maintenance departments of the operating companies.
The meeting comes as some of the country’s foreign operators are starting to initiate programs to resume production. Production restarts after being shut in to the civil war and Daesh (ISIS) attacks have resulted in a host of technical problems that need to be tackled.
The meeting discussed mutual cooperation and efforts exerted by the companies in order to mitigate the difficulties and obstacles that face the oil companies. Focus was made on conducting the maintenance operations for the pipelines that connect oil fields with the ports, which suffer from many leaks under the absence of service companies.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to conduct periodic meetings to exchange views and put forward the appropriate solutions for whatever problems that may face the companies.
