According to local media outlets, the death toll in th DRC continues to climb as a result of from militia clashes with DRC security forces. The governor in the province hardest hit by the violence puts tha number at 49, rather than the 13 reported last week.
The Kamwina Nsapu militia group is looking to avenge the death of its leader for whom the group is named.
Six of the dead are civilians while 16 security forces and 27 militiamen also perished in the fighting.
