COTCO Could Double Pipeline Flows by 2022

Tuesday, November 27, 2018

The managing director of the Cameroon Oil Transportation Company (COTCO), Johnny Malec, said the volumes of crude transported through the pipeline could double by 2022. An increase in crude being shipped through the pipeline would be a boon for Cameroon’s economy.

The increase in production would come for new operators that have arrived in Chad over the past few years. Since the pipeline’s inception, the Chad-Cameroon pipeline has shipped 680 million barrels of crude.

There is also the chance that crude from Niger could be shipped through the pipeline. There has been talk of a pipeline being constructed from the oil fields of Niger to the pipeline in Chad, shipping it on through the Chad-Cameroon pipeline to the coast of Cameroon.
