Tuesday, May 7, 2019

Craig International has reinforced its position as a global market-leader in oil and gas procurement after reporting its best ever year in the US and securing a contract with BP in the UK.

Under the BP contract, which is worth around £20million, Craig International will provide third party procurement services including equipment for maintenance, repair and operations to all of operator’s assets in the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS). BP currently operates six assets in the North Sea including the Clair Ridge, Andrew and ETAP platforms.

The contract is for three years with a two year extension option.

Meanwhile Craig International’s North American operations have experienced considerable growth in the last year, recording a turnover of $49 million USD. The company has increased headcount by 20% and currently employs 20 experienced personnel in its Houston office which has recently relocated to larger premises on in Woodham Drive.

The team in Houston is working with several oil and gas operators on both upstream and downstream projects in Canada, the Gulf of Mexico and the US domestic market.

A dedicated team in Aberdeen will work on the BP contract which has created two new positions and safeguards several existing roles.

Jill Macdonald, joint managing director of Craig International, commented: “Our continued investment in driving efficiency through innovative systems and processes has allowed us to remain at the forefront of the global oil and gas procurement market.

“Our online ebuy platform is just one example of how we strive to streamline the procurement process and ensure a cost-efficient service for our customers.

“We have worked with BP since 2013 and this latest contract is testament to our investment in those processes and our skilled procurement personnel globally who continue to add value at every point of the supply chain process for our clients.

Ms Macdonald continued: “Our Houston premises opened in 2005 and we’ve seen steady, year-on-year growth. However this has accelerated in the last three years as the need for efficiencies has driven demand for out-sourced procurement services. Our combination of experienced personnel and e-systems offers a winning solution and we look forward to expanding our footprint further in North America.”

The company launched its ebuy platform, a bespoke electronic procurement service, in 2011. The system is designed to meet the day-to-day requirements of the global energy industry and provides simple online access to more than 60,000 products across 1,000 categories
