Deepsea Stavanger to Drill for Total in South Africa

Further to the conditional letter of award (CLOA) from early-March, Odfjell Drilling has now been awarded the contract as described in the CLOA. The contract comes from Total E&P South Africa and is for use of Odfjell’s Deepsea Stavanger semi-submersible rig.

Total will use the Deepsea Stavanger to drill offshore South Africa. The contract is for one well plus one optional well and will begin between June 2018 and April 2019.

The contract value, including compensation for the mobilization /demobilization period, is estimated up to $55 million. The company expects the drilling of the firm well to take 60-80 days.
