DOJ Investigation Won’t Affect Guinea Drilling

Thursday, October 3, 2013

Hyperdynamics is not concerned about the recent investigation by the DOJ into the company’s activities in Guinea affecting operations. The company’s Chief Executive Ray Leonard said that the probe likely won’t affect the company’s ability to explore its concession offshore Guinea.

The company reported on October 1 that  that the DOJ had requested documents relating to its business in Guinea.

Leonard declined to specify on Tuesday which documents the US government is requesting. He said Hyperdynamics has yet to talk with Tullow or Dana about the probe. “We don’t know the scope of the investigation or who is involved,” Leonard said at an industry symposium in San Francisco, hosted by the Independent Petroleum Association of America.
