The northeastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri, which has suffered more than its fair share of violence in the past, saw a bomb blast hit a busy meat market. According to reports out of the West African country, as many as 50 people died in the blast.
There has been no claim of responsibility for the bombing, but it follows two bomb attacks over the weekend that left at least 30 dead. All three bomb attacks bare a marked resemblance to attacks by Nigeria’s militant Islamist group the Boko Haram.
