The Democratic Republic of Congo or DRC is planning to offer up exploration blocks in the near future according to the country’s oil minister, Crispin Atama Tabe. The government is hoping that the offer of new exploration blocks will boost investment.
Tabe said that investment opportunities would become available on the Nganzi, Mavuma, Nduna, Yema, and Matamba-Makanzi blocks. The blocks are located near the mouth of the River Congo and around the DRC border with Angola’s oil-rich Cabinda enclave.
“Once the terms are made available, these blocks will be subject to a tender,” Tabe said in a Reuters report, without giving further details on the timeframe.
