Panoro Energy’s Ruche Nord-EST (DRNEM-1) has been deemed an oil discovery. The well is located on the Dussafu Marin license offshore Gabon.
The well was drilled to a total depth of 3,400 meters, encountering good quality hydrocarbons. Drilling hit a reservoir of 15 meters in the Gamba formation and another reservoir of 25 meters of oil in tanks stacked at the Dentale level.
A technical assessment is currently underway to gauge the discovery.
The well was drilled to identify additional oil resources in the pre-salt formations of Gamba and Dentale. Its drilling took place within budget.
The new find could be developed with the discoveries made on the Ruche field in 2011
