Eastern Med Continues to Show Natural Gas

The Eastern Mediterranean continues to add to its natural gas bounties building on the recent Zohr discovery made by ENI offshore Egypt and the Leviathan and Tamar discoveries made by the Noble Energy-led group offshore Israel in the past several years.

Two Israeli explorers, Isramco Negev and Modiin Energy, revealed that the Daniel East and Daniel West fields could an estimated total of 8.9 Tcf of natural gas.

Israeli Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz has said experts estimate there are between 10,000 and 15,000 Bcm of gas in the east Mediterranean Basin between discoveries made by Israel, Cyprus, and Egypt.
