Egypt and Algeria Discuss Cooperation

Egypt and Algeria are discussing cooperating on energy projects. According to Egyptian Minister of Petroleum, Tarek el Molla, the during the meeting he and his Algerian counterpart, Mustapha Guitouni, discussed cooperation in a multitude of areas of cooperation in the sector including petrochemicals.

“The relationship between the two countries goes a long way back, as Egypt imports part of its butane needs through an agreement between Algeria’s Sonatrach and EGPC,” El Molla stated, pointing out Petrojet’s participation in several petroleum projects in Algeria.

Additionally, the two ministers discussed the possibility of allowing the Egyptian Drilling Company (EDC) to operate in Algeria.

Meanwhile, Guitouni declared his full support to increase the cooperation between the two sides, including exchanging expertise and advanced technologies in the oil and gas field.
