Egypt and Mauritania to Cooperate in Petroleum Sector

Monday, June 6, 2016

Egypt and Mauritania are discussing the possibility of cooperating in the mining and petroleum sectors. Tarek El Molla, Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and his Mauritanian counterpart, Mohamed Salem Ould al-Bashir, discussed ways of enhancing and activating the protocol of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The discussions follow the protocol that was signed during a visit to Egypt by Mauritania’s president, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz in April aimed at expanding the horizons of cooperation to enhance economic cooperation.

Mauritania is keen to take advantage of Egypt’s experts in oil and petroleum agreements, and training of technical personnel using the benefit of the Egyptian training centers.
