After the disposing of Egypt’s first democratically-elected president Mohamed Morsi, the military announced the interim cabinet led by prime minister Hazem El Beblawi from the Egyptian Social Democratic Party. He previously served as UN undersecretary-general from 1995-2000 and briefly as Egypt’s minister of finance, post-revolution.
Three women are also onboard including Dorreya Sharaf El Din, minister of information; Laila Rashed Iskandar, minister of environment; and Maha El-Rabat, minister of health. Other positions include Abdel Fattah Al Sisi as first deputy prime minister and minister of defense, Sherif Ismail as minister of petroleum, and Ahmed Imam, minister of electricity. Imam was an engineer at the Aswan High Dam power plant moving to the West Delta Electricity Production Co. He was appointed head of the Cairo Electricity Production Co. until 2011, and after the revolution, was appointed as deputy to the minister of electricity.
