In Egypt, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources is studying the construction of a new refinery and petrochemicals complex. The potential petrochemical complex would come at a cost of $8.5 billion and be constructed in the Al-Alamein region.
According to the Ministry, four new projects in the petrochemical industry are under way with investments of about $1.5 billion, in addition to six other projects with a total investment of about $7 billion within four years, which will increase the capacity of refineries to more than 41 million tons annually.
