Despite becoming a net importer of LNG, Egypt has been able to export two cargos of LNG in 2016. The North African country sent its first LNG shipment to India in March and has now sent out its second cargo bound for Japan.
A shipment of 60,000 metric tons of LNG was shipped from Egypt and heading to Niigata, Japan. The shipment is expected to arrive at its destination in July and will be received by Tohoku Electric Power Company.
Japan is the world’s largest buyer of LNG.
