Egypt Plans More Block Offerings

Egypt plans to offer up 28 blocks for auction in the near future according to the country’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla.

Molla, said at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) taking place in Houston, “We are going to call a new bid round for 28 blocks … in the coming few weeks.”

He said that the recent success by ENI offshore Egypt in the deepwaters of the Mediterranean has raised interest in Egypt’s E&P sector as an investment destination.
