Egypt plans to launch a tender for a second LNG import terminal. The tender for a second import terminal is expected to aid Egypt in addressing its ever growing energy needs.
In November the government finalized a long-delayed deal with Norway’s Hoegh LNG for a floating storage and regasification unit that will allow it to begin LNG imports. Plagued by a series of delays over the last two years, the first terminal is meant to begin operating by the end of March.
