Egypt will see investment in new power projects as preliminary deals have been signed with Alghanim International out of Kuwait. The projects are worth upwards of $1.5 billion according to a government statement.
Under one of the agreements, Egypt will see four gas-powered plants converted to operate on combined cycle, while the second agreement calls for the establishment of gas-powered plants with a total capacity of 900 MW.
There was no timeframe offered for completion.
