Egypt to Import Algerian LNG

Tuesday, December 9, 2014

Algeria will export LNG to Egypt over a five-month period in 2015 according to Egypt’s oil ministry. The contract is expected to be signed by the end of December.

Under the contract Egypt will import six cargos of Algerian LNG between April and September.

In addition, a long-delayed agreement between Egypt and Norway’s Hoegh LNG for a floating storage and regasification unit has been finalized. The deal will give the North African country the ability to import the LNG. The expected launch date for the vessel is the end of March, just in time to receive the first cargo of Algerian LNG.
