Egypt’s state-run gas firm, EGAS, latest licensing round should net it about $187 million as it has signed deals with several international operators and one Tunisian firm.
The agreements for exploration blocks cover seven exploration areas. Germany’s RWE won two exploration blocks in the Gulf of Suez, while Tunisia’s HBSI, Canada’s TransGlobe and Italy’s Edison secured five blocks in Egypt’s western desert.
The EGAS blocks, as well as blocks put on offer by EGPC, are located in the Suez Canal, Egypt’s western desert, the Mediterranean, and the Nile Delta.
