New acreage in Egypt’s Western Desert and the Gulf of Suez is going to be put on offer when the next oil exploration round is launched. The country’s Petroleum Minister, Tarek El Molla, said that 11 blocks would be up for auction next week.
The Minister also revealed that next week’s licensing round was just the first of three licensing rounds to be held this year. El Molla said that the next two rounds would be for gas exploration.
