New gas development projects in Egypt will allow the North African country to see its production of the resource increase to between 5.5 Bcf to 6 Bcf over the next three years according to the country’s oil minister, Tarek El Molla.
Molla said three large projects, including the ENI’s Zohr field development, will aid Egypt in reaching its goals. Molla was speaking at the inauguration of a fertilizer plant in the coastal city of Damietta.
Besides the three large projects, Egypt currently has another nine gas natural gas field development projects underway. All 12 projects are worth a total of $33 billion in investment.
