Fajr Egypt is in preparation for the signing of an agreement with Jordan’s state-run utility firm, National Electric Power Co. for the supply of LNG to Jordan. According to Fajr, it will supply Jordan with 70 Mcf/d of LNG for industrial use.
The company is currently conducting the necessary studies in cooperation with Egypt Gas and according to Fajr’s chairman, Ahmed Mahmoud, the company is also considering the establishment of a network of gas stations in Jordan in coordination with Gastec.
In addition to the potential agreement between Fajr and National Electric Power Co., the governments of Egypt and Jordan have signed a memorandum of cooperation regarding training and the transfer of Egyptian expertise in natural gas activities to Jordan.
