Qalaa Holdings Co. is nearing completion of its work on the Egyptian Refining Company’s oil refinery. According to reports, the company has 92% of the work on the $3.6-billion project complete.
The refinery, once operational, will decrease diesel import by 50%; processing heavy fuel into diesel for local consumption, and once at full capacity, it could supply nearly half of the North African country’s requirements.
The project is projected to be inaugurated by the end of 2017.
