RWE Dea connected its development well, North West Khilala (NWK-1-4), reaching initial production targets for the Disouq natural gas project in Egypt’s Nile Delta. Several additional wells and the start-up of the Central Treatment Plant, expected later this year, will further boost the ouput.
The NWK-1-4 was drilled in March to delimit the northwestern part of the NWK Field, flowing at a rate of 17 Mmcf/d of gas during clean-up testing. The NWK-1-4 is RWE’s fourth well on stream at the Disouq natural gas project. The project includes the development of seven gas fields in the Nile Delta, with the NWK being the first brought into production last September.
“We are pleased, that the NWK Field has now reached its production target of 60 Mmcf/d of gas in line with our initial expectations,” said Maximilian Fellner, General Manager RWE Dea Egypt. “RWE Dea remains committed to supplying natural gas to meet the needs of Egypt’s growing energy demand.”
