Engineers India Ltd. (EIL) signed a contract with Dangote Oil Refining Co. for the construction of a mega refinery and petrochemical plant project in Nigeria. EIL will render project management consultancy and EPCm services for implementing the 400,000 bpd grassroots refinery and the 600,000 ton per annum polypropylene plant in the Lekki Free Trade Zone near Lagos.
The contract, valued at $139 million, was signed on June 2 and is the largest ever single consultancy assignment for EIL.
The main facilities of the project comprise of a crude distillation unit, residue fluid catalytic cracking unit, diesel hydro-treating unit, continuous catalyst regeneration unit, alkylation unit and a polypropylene unit, as well as utilities and offsites including captive power with other enabling infrastructure facilities.
The crude and product handing facilities through Single Point Mooring is also planned to be integrated with the refinery.
