US firm Anadarko, one of the largest producers in Algeria, just saw production delivered outside the El Merk complex. The complex, where the US independent is partnered with Algeria’s Sonatrach, began flowing in March but it was not until May 3 that crude was delivered outside the complex.
Algerian state news agency APS said the complex, which includes a plant to process the hydrocarbons, will produce 127,000 bpd of crude oil and condensates by the end of this year.
Anadarko confirmed on May 6 that production was now flowing from the $4.5 billion El Merk development.
