El Molla Retains Position at Ministry of Petroleum

 Those operating in Egypt’s energy sector, both conventional and renewable will be happy to hear that the leadership of the ministries in charge of the sectors will not see new leadership. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum, was sworn in on June 14 by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

El Molla will be serving under the new Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly who replaced Sherif Ismail.

The Ismail cabinet resigned on June 5 in a routine move that follows the swearing-in of a president.

Minister of Electricity and Renewable Resources Mohamed Shaker also remained in his position. Osama Ali Asran was appointed as Shaker’s deputy.
