Toward the goal of expanding its footprint in sub-Saharan Africa Engen is increasing its presence in Mozambique through an aggressive retail expansion. The company is planning on opening three service stations, one in Maputo and two in Inhambane.
Engen currently operates 16 services stations in Mozambique.
Construction on the new Maputo station is expected to begin in Q1 2016 once approval from the relevant local authority is granted.
In Inhambane the first site will be a knock-down revamp to bring it to its full potential size-wise and to match the high global environmental, safety and quality standards of Engen’s retail offerings. Engen started construction on the second Inhambane site in August. Both stations are expected to be complete before the end of the year.
Engen will continue on with its aggressive expansion plans into 2016 with a potential for four new sites in the works.
