ENH to Refinance Gas Development Obligations

Sunday, April 29, 2018

Mozambique’s state-run oil company, ENH, is looking to raise funds to refinance its portion of two gas developments offshore the country. Towards that end, ENH has appointed Lazard Frères SAS and Lion’s Head Global Partners as advisers to help raise as much as $2 billion.

ENH will host roadshows in May around the world, including stops in Asia, the Middle East, and South Africa.

According to ENH chairman, Omar Mitha, Lazard is advising the company on refinancing its portion of the ENI project on Area 4. Lion’s Head will advise on the project that Anadarko Petroleum Corp. is building.

It will engage Societe Generale SA to assist with refinancing for the Anadarko portion, Mitha said.

“We need to put that in place,” Mitha, who is also CEO of ENH, said in Maputo, Mozambique’s capital. “It’s extremely urgent.”
