ENI added to its acreage in Mozambique with a winning bid in the country’s licensing round. The company won access to offshore block A5-A, partnered with Statoil and Sasol.
The block, which covers a total area of 5,145 sq km in a water depth between 200 and 1800 meters, is placed within an unexplored area of the Northern Zambesi Basin, which the consortium estimates to contain significant hydrocarbon resources.
ENI, through its subsidiary ENI Mozambico, is the operator of JV, with a 34% stake. The other partners are Statoil and Sasol with 25.5% stake each and ENH with a 15% stake.
