ENI Sees Record Production

Monday, March 19, 2018

The startup of the NW-7 well has led ENI to achieve record production from its Nooros gas field offshore Egypt. The Nooros field reached flows of 32 Mmcm/d, the highest ever recorded by an ENI field in Egypt.

The NW-7 well was the 13th well drilled within the field.

ENI will see production levels increase even further when the firm completes the drilling and commissioning of its 14th well on the field. The well is currently being drilled and is expected to be brought online in June, bringing production up to 34 Mmcm/d on the Nooros.

Nooros’ development will be optimized in the mid-term following the extension of the development lease that will entail new investments, in particular the construction of a new trunkline linking Nooros with the El Gamil onshore treatment plant by year end 2018 and early 2019, ensuring the above production level in the mid-term while maximizing recoverable reserves.

These measures will also include the start-up of Baltim SW and will allow the swift start-up of any future exploration potential in the Nile Delta area.

In the Nile Delta Concession, where Nooros is located, ENI holds a 75% stake through its affiliate IEOC Production BV, while BP holds the remaining 25%.
