ENI Signs new Energy Contracts with ROC

ENI signed two agreements with the government of the Republic of Congo at Palazzo Chigi, intended to boost the energy development and local growth of the country.

On February 26 ENI confirmed its commitment in Congo with the signature of two agreements at Palazzo Chigi, underwritten by ENI’s CEO Claudio Descalzi in the presence of the President of the Republic of Congo, Denis Sassou N’Guesso, and of the Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi.

These cooperative and strategic agreements are intended to boost the energy development in Congo and contribute to local growth. The company did not specify what type of energy or projects that would be involved.

ENI has been present in Congo since 1968 and currently produces about 110,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in the country. ENI has also been present in sub-Saharan Africa since the ’60s and it operates exploration and production projects in Angola, Ghana, Gabon, Mozambique, Nigeria, Kenya, Liberia, and South Africa.
