ENI to Export Algerian Gas

ENI has been able to negotiate its way into marketing and exporting Algerian gas. Under the terms of the agreement with state-run firm Sonatrach, ENI will be allowed to export the gas that will be discovered on the BRN and MLE fields.

According to Claudio Descalzi, CEO of ENI, the agreement marks a major change in the strategy of improving the value of its assets in Algeria.

Sonatrach’s CEO, Abdelmoumen Ould Kaddour, said at a conference in London in Q4 2017 that Algeria was working on plans that would allow for foreign firms, through JVs with Sonatrach, to market Algerian gas.
