Monday, October 15, 2018

Engineering for the Petroleum & Process Industries (ENPPI) signed an agreement with Technip and Assiut National Oil Processing Company (ANOPC) for the construction of the mazut hydrogen cracking complex in Egypt.

The $1.9 billion complex is a part of Assiut Refining Company’s (ASORC) petrochemical development.

The companies will now move forward with preparatory work for the project which includes drawing up designs, budgeting, negotiating with suppliers, and preparing the site.

In addition to the ENPPI contract, ASORC awarded WorleyParsons a four-year contract

to provide project management consultancy for the Assiut Hydrocracking Complex.

ASORC awarded the contract through its subsidiary ANOPC.

According to the deal, WorleyParsons will supervise the basic engineering phase, detailed design, open-book estimate, construction, procurement, and commissioning of the complex.

Assiut hydrocracking complex will annually turn 2.5 million ton of heavy fuel oil into high-quality petroleum products such as butane, diesel, kerosene, naphtha, and gasoline.

The complex will use thermal cracking technologies to convert mazut into 1.6 million tons per year of Euro 5-quality fuels, low-sulfur, in addition to annual 101,000 tons of butane and 402,000 tons per year of naphtha.
