Es Sider Port Guards Clash with ISIS

Tuesday, January 5, 2016

ISIS militants clashed with a force guarding Libya’s Es Sider oil port on Monday. There was no report on how close to the terminal fighting took place.

This is the second attack at Es Sider by the ISIS militants. In October the group set off a car bomb near the perimeter gate.

The port of Es Sider has been closed for more than a year due to fighting between rival factions for control of the country. The nearby port at Ras Lanuf has also been closed for more than a year.
