Eskom Chairman Quits

Wednesday, June 14, 2017

Eskom’s leadership has taken another hit with the resignation of its chairman, Ben Ngubane. He had been the chairman of the beleaguered South African utility since 2015.

The company’s leadership has been at the center of influence-peddling allegations.

Ngubane’s decision to leave comes just two weeks after the government reversed Eskom’s decision to reinstate Brian Molefe as chief executive; it also comes one day after the parliament said it would launch a graft and governance probe into the company.
