ExxonMobil Plans November Spud in Liberia

Thursday, October 20, 2016

Liberia should see the first well drilled by ExxonMobil next month. The US supermajor and its partner Canadian Overseas Petroleum Ltd. (COPL), hold title to Block L-13 offshore the West African country.

In early 2016 COPL said that it had been informed by ExxonMobil that the partners had been granted an extension for 619 days. The extension was granted because of the Ebola crisis in Liberia during 2014.

The first well to be drilled will be the Mesurado-1e.
