First LNG Powered Vessel Transits Panama Canal

TOTE Maritime’s Isla Bella became the first LNG-powered vessel to transit the Panama Canal. The Isla Bella traversed the canal on October 30.

The Isla Bella is the first of two Marlin Class containership contracted by TOTE and built by General Dynamics. The second vessel, the Perla del Caribe, is scheduled to go into service in Q1 2016.
