The Zohr 2X well offshore Egypt on the Shorouk Block, saw its production test deemed a success by operator ENI. The well was the first appraisal of ENI’s massive Zohr discovery.
During the test, 120 meters of the reservoir was opened to production. The well, constrained by surface facilities, delivered up to 44 Mmcf/d. The comprehensive set of data collected and analyzed have proved that the well has a great production capacity, which is estimated in deliverability of up to 250 Mmcf/d in production configuration (about 46,000 bodpd).
The program envisages for 2016 the drilling of a further three wells. Besides the onshore gas treatment plant, construction works have already started and the bids for the offshore activities launched and nearly completed.
