Wednesday, May 2, 2018

Flintstone Technology Ltd was awarded a “substantial contract” that will have it working offshore West Africa. The company secured a contract with MODEC for its in-line tensioning and pull through connection mooring system for deployment offshore Ghana.

The system will be used on Tullow Oil’s Kwame Nkrumah FPSO located on the Jubilee field off the coast of Ghana. The mooring system will allow the conversion of the FPSO to a spread moored configuration.

Commenting on the contract, Flintstone Managing Director Andrew Clayson said: “We are very pleased to see our technology being used to provide a solution to what is a complex and challenging situation with the existing mooring arrangement. We look forward to working with MODEC and Tullow on the project.”

The Kwame Nkrumah is installed in approximately 1,100 meters water depth on the Jubilee Field.

Earlier this month, Flintstone announced it was is diversifying its mooring operations to help drive down costs for the offshore floating wind industry. The company’s solutions can match specific project requirements in both oil and gas and marine renewable energy.
