Force Majeure Lifted on Gas to NLNG

Thursday, June 13, 2013

Nigeria saw the SPDC JV lift the force majeure on gas supplies to NLNG. The force majeure was declared on May 15 and lifted on June 10.

The force majeure was declared due to a leak on the Eastern Gas Gathering System (EGGS-1) pipeline. The joint investigation visit to the location of the leak showed that the leak was caused by sabotage.

Some 240,000 boepd of the JV’s production was deferred over the shut-in period. SPDC has now repaired the line and resumed gas production.
