Fuel shortages in Sudan are having a deep impact on citizens facing petrol queues kilometers long and having to make rationing decisions including on whether to use their fuel to go to work or not. Consumers say this is the worst shortage to date, having endured previous shortages over the past year.
The transitional government has introduced a fuel rationing system as it tries to manage acute economic pressures, which have seen a black market emerge, according to Reuters reporting. “Supplies are continuing, there is no need to panic,” Energy Minister Adel Ibrahim told reporters.
