Ganope Pushes Back Closing of Licensing Round

Monday, December 5, 2016

Egypt’s state-run oil and gas firm in charge of the country’s resources in Upper Egypt, Ganoub El Wadi Petroleum Holding Company (Ganope), delayed the closing date of its latest licensing round.

The 2016 licensing round offered up 10 blocks with five in the southern Gulf of Suez region and five in the Western Desert.

Ganope pushed back the closing date by two and a half months in an effort to give bidding firms more time to study the areas. The extended timeline also offers an opportunity for other firms to submit bids.
