Gas Treatment Halted at Atuabo Plant

Thursday, February 8, 2018

Ghana’s state-owned gas company, Ghana Gas, revealed that gas treatment at the Atuabo plant was halted on February 1 and will be suspended for 24 days, or until February 25. The shut down will allow work to be carried out on different units.

Gas from the Jubilee field also saw its gas production halted, according to a statement from Tullow Oil. The production from the Jubilee field is used as feedstock at the plant. The work will also give Tullow Oil time to work on the underwater interconnection linking its new TEN field to Jubilee. This will provide an additional 45 Mmcf/d for the Atuabo plant.

The government reassured consumers that the work will not affect the production and availability of electricity.
