Gazprom Looks to Strengthen Algerian Ties

Algeria will be receiving a visit from officials from Russian gas giant GAzprom this year. The Russian firm is looking to establish a better working relationship with the Algerian government and the visit is aimed at ensuring that.

Gazprom board chairman Viktor Zubkov recently met with the Algerian ambassador to Russia, Smail Chergui in Moscow to discuss stronger links between the two in the energy sector.

“The parties agreed to prepare and hold a business trip of Viktor Zubkov to Algeria before the end of the current year,” Gazprom said in a statement.
