Eland Oil & Gas received approval for its Gbetiokun field development plan from Nigeria’s petroleum department. Eland intends to drill five additional production wells during Phase one of the development, followed by the drilling of a further six production wells and a single workover well during Phase 2.
The first well in the development program, the Gbetiokun-4 well, was recently spud. The well will be completed as a dual string producer on the E3000 and E5000 reservoirs with an estimated initial production rate of between 3,000 and 5,000 bpd.
