GDR Secures Multi-Million Dollar Refinery Upgrade Contract in Nigeria

Global Drilling Resources (GDR) was awarded a $5 million contract to provide cranes, heavy lifting, rigging, process instrumentation and controls, heavy machinery, materials and training services to Nigeria Machine Tools and Port Harcourt Refinery, the end user in Nigeria.

The $5 million contract award was facilitated by the U.S. Commercial Service (USCS) within the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos. USCS is an integral part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, that operates through a vast network of foreign and domestic locations, making the connections necessary for mutually beneficial trade relationships by engaging U.S. companies in the global marketplace.

The Managing Director of Nigeria Machine Tools, Norbert Chukwumah, the Managing Director of Port Harcourt Refinery Company Limited (PHRC,) a subsidiary of NNPC Limited, Ahmed Dikko, and Engineer Mamman Madu visited the United States for inspection and commissioned the major equipment needed as part of the refinery overhaul and upgrade.

Obinna Nwadike, President of Global Drilling Resources, seeks to support and succor the procurement needs of both Nigeria’s private and public sector stakeholders, as they begin to deliver upon their promises of an economic upswing.
