GETENERGY VTEC MENA 2013 Set to Launch

Less than one week until GETENERGY VTEC MENA 2013

Getenergy VTEC MENA, the Middle East and North Africa’s only meeting to host both oil and gas companies and vocational education and technical training providers, will be taking place next week.

Training providers and oil and gas industry representatives, with invested interests in the MENA region, will attend the Getenergy VTEC MENA with a view to collaborating to deliver a safe and competent workforce.

Over 200 prestigious leaders will attend the event from government, industry and education, including the patron His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister for Culture, Youth and Community Development.

Speaker programme highlights at the event, which will be hosted at the Abu Dhabi Polytechnic in Abu Dhabi on November 25 – 27, include:

• Ali Al Jarwan, CEO, ADMA OPCO – NOC perspective for education and training
• Saad A. Al-Shahrani, NITI Project Manager, National Industrial Training Institute (NITI) (Saudi Aramco & TVTC JV) – Filling the gap of required competent & skilled national technicians
• Rafi Baghdjian, Chief Operating Officer, Shell Abu Dhabi – Building sustainable partnerships between IOCs, NOCs and Colleges
• Haji Al Balushi, Director General for Vocational Training, Ministry of Manpower-Oman – Opportunities within Oman’s VET system
• Wan Azhar Lotfi Wan Yusof, CEO, PETRONAS (INSTEP) – A regional technical learning centre for the oil and gas industry
• Osama Al Hamad, Superintendent Technical & Soft-Skills Training, BAPCO – Development and implementation of BAPCO’s competency framework project
• Hamed Hadhrami, Learning and Development Manager, Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) – ‘In-Country Value’ through technical operator programmes
• Smail Djirar, Senior Learning & Education Advisor, ZADCO
• Richard Gibb, Executive Dean of Engineering, Higher Colleges of Technology – Industry college partnerships
• Paul Kelly, Head of Training, Dolphin Energy – Ensuring staff and contractors successfully complete core HSE training
• Ali Al Maskari, Head of Academic Studies
• Peter Hardcastle, Senior Academic Advisor, ADNOC Technical Institute (ATI) – Changing teaching and learning cultures.

Shell Abu Dhabi are supporting the participation of three colleges from the oil-rich Western region of the UAE to exhibit at the event, demonstrating the essential partnership between oil companies and colleges.

Partnerships like this will be created through ample networking with 39 exhibiting companies and education providers in the Learning Arena Exhibition and a ‘no PowerPoint’ speaker programme.
