Sonangol awarded a refined products buy tender to Glencore and Total, sources familiar with the matter said, according to a Reuters report. Total will supply gasoline while Glencore will supply the country with diesel.
The tender going to Glencore and Total left Sonangol’s longtime supplier, Trafigura, out in the cold. Angola has relied on Trafigura for fuel imports for quite some time. The trader was still supplying gasoil until now but major competitor Vitol recently edged in to supply the country with gasoline, according to Reuters.
